The SMU equestrian team recorded its best finish of the year Sunday, taking second in the final show at the West Texas A&M Horse Show held at the West Texas A&M University Horse Center in Canyon, Texas. SMU totaled 24 points on Sunday, second only to Texas A&M's 29 points. The 24 points by SMU finished ahead of Oklahoma State (19 pts.), LSU (17 pts.) and Texas Tech (17 pts.).
The 24 points were the most points scored in a show all year for the Ponies. The Mustangs return to action Mar. 28 when they compete in the Region II Championships in College Station, Texas.
