Smotherman finishes at minus 3 only one shot off the lead

Both Austin and Harry will be playing the weekend at Colonial. Austin at minus 2 is T-29th and 7 shots off the lead. Harry is even par and T-51st

Austin gets to 2 under and is T-31st and 9 shots off the lead. Harry blew up to a 5 over finish and is T-66th, one shot from the bottom of the leader board, but at least he will earn a check

Our guys crashed and burned in their final rounds with Austin shooting an 8 over 78 and Harry 10 over 80 that featured 3 double bogeys and a scorecard that looked like one of mine. Austin finishes T-63rd and earns $18,228 while Harry takes the final qualifying spot (69th) at plus 15 and earns $17,388

Looks like Bryson DeChambeau is going to play in the Memorial at Muirfield this week. Heard he was back playing practice rounds but will be interesting to see whether he's ready for 72 holes or even 36

Bryson's front nine 42 has him at plus 9 thru 11 holes of his 2nd round, so appears he was overly ambitious thinking he was ready to compete again.

Always finish on a positive note. Bryson's one under front nine, which was his back nine today hopefully leaves him feeling optimistic that he can be competitive this season as he continues to heal and get his game back.

Rumor today is that Bryson and Patrick Read are jumping to LIV tour.

More and more guys will take the money and run with guys like Phil, Sergio and DJ having committed. PGA is going to have to deal with the competition. If it's only about the money, it will be difficult to compete. Hopefully the majors will always remain open to the best players in the world

Harry, Kelly & Austin all playing the Canadian Open this week

Kelly finishes his 1st round at minus one and T-25th. Austin blows up and plays his last 4 holes 5 over to finish at plus 2 while Harry is at plus 5 so both of those guys are at risk of missing the cut

Kelly fires another one under in the morning round and sits at minus two for the tourney so he will be playing the weekend. Austin off to a minus 2 start and is at even par, looking good but made double bogey on his 14th hole and probably has to par in to make the cut. Harry at plus 2 today and plus 7 for the event through his 1st 3 holes is well off the cut line.

Strong finish for Kelly in Canada as he gets to minus 8, T-13th and collects $160k for his efforts this week. Austin finishes at minus 2 and T-44th earning $30k

In case anyone missed it, Bryson at least made the cut at the U.S. Open this week and finished T-56th at 13 over, good for $38,511 which I suppose is chump change for him now that he will be playing 54 hole events for guaranteed earnings far beyond that kind of money. Will be interesting to see if the guys playing the LIV events still have a strong enough motivation to prepare for and really compete in the major championships
