It appears our three primary PGA Tour participants (Smotherman, Higgs, Kraft) will have to figure out alternative routes to maintain or retain their eligibility. The 126-200 in FedEx Cup points group gets a free pass to the Korn Ferry finals (3 events) and can position themselves to gain their Tour cards in that manner. In the meantime, Mustangs are literally everywhere in the world of golf and gaining...former AAC Champ, Mac Meissner, who had a T10 in the last Korn Ferry event, sits at 48 in the KF rankings, with a solid shot at gaining PGA Tour access through the KF finals. Recent grad Noah Goodwin, won $35,000 two weeks ago on the PGA Tour managed Canadian Tour, with a pathway there to the Korn Ferry Tour...Goodwin sits at #6 in those rankings as the top 5 get KF access. Where Bryson lands or how the whole LIV thing unfolds is anybody's guess.

Looks like LIV led to some reforms of the PGA Tour.

Higgs finished near last and Kraft withdrew from the Korn Ferry Championship. That door has closed.

So the '22-'23 PGA season is underway and last week Austin Smotherman finished minus 7 and T-25th at the Fortinet in Napa, CA earning $55,273. Kelly Kraft also played and missed the cut at plus 2 while Harry Higgs also missed at plus 4.

Austin and Harry will tee it up tomorrow at the Sanderson farms event in Jackson, MS. Purses are up significantly and the Players this year will pay out $25 million to lead the pack as usual. Several other events have $15-$20 million purses

Smotherman's 1st round minus 2 has him T-25th at the Sanderson Farms. Harry was even par today and is T-68th

Austin finishes 36 holes at 4 under after 4 birdies on his back nine today and is currently T-31st and safely under the cut line. Harry finishes plus 3 and misses the cut by 5 shots after 5 bogeys today to offset his 2 birds.

Austin's 3rd consecutive 2 under round has him at minus 6 and T-33rd with several others at 6 under still on the course at the Sanderson Farms Championship

A pair of double bogeys contributed to a closing round plus 3 for Austin who finishes minus 3 for the tournament and ahead of only 6 other golfers who survived the cut but at least he will earn $16,274 for his work this week

Somebody needs to send Smotherman to “Finishing School”…thus far in his career, he is prone to Sunday blow-ups. #NotGood

That's been the case with all of our guys other than DeChambeau who you don't hear much about anymore since he made the decision to take the guaranteed money and run

Bryson finished 2nd today in the Pro Long Driving Championship - impressive. He’s just doing his thing.

Smotherman's 2 under 2nd round has him at minus 5 and T-38th, safely under the cut line and 7 shots off the lead. Will he have a strong weekend?
