DALLAS - SMU fell to Tulane in four sets (31-33, 25-23, 25-20, 25-23) on Thursday evening. The Mustangs (5-4, 1-4 AAC) took the first set with extra points, but the Green Wave (5-7, 3-2 AAC) battled back to take the next three sets. Jadyn Bauss notched her eighth double-double on the season with 18 kills and 19 digs. Rachel Woulfe secured a season-high 17 kills on the evening to help the Mustangs offensively.

Lily Heim came away with 42 assists and 12 digs at the setter position. Makayla Miller and Bria' Merchant finished with 12 and 10 digs, respectively. Kaylyn Winkler and Woulfe came up big at the net combining for eight block assists against the Green Wave.

SMU hit .321 in the first set and stormed out to a 7-3 advantage. The Mustangs pushed their lead to 18-12 midway through the set, but the Green Wave came back to knot the set up at 21. Back-and-forth both teams fought to set up the longest set of the year for the Mustangs. Woulfe eventually picked up the kill with her big swing to take down the Green Wave in the first set.

Tied at 21 in the second set, Bauss was able to find the floor with two big kills down the stretch, but Tulane strung off consecutive points to tie the match up at one win apiece.

The Green Wave began the third set up 7-2, but SMU rallied to tie the set up at 13. Tulane once again regained the lead and went up 19-15. SMU cut into the Tulane deficit, but the Green Wave never surrendered their lead.

The fourth set was another back-and-forth battle. Neither team had a larger lead than one point until Tulane grabbed a 10-8 advantage. Winkler had a big kill to give SMU a 15-12 lead. Hannah Jacobs picked up a kill to push SMU out to a 20-18 lead, but Tulane would finish the set on a 7-3 run.

Lexie Douglas paced Tulane with 22 kills and 21 digs to lead all players. Yvette Burcescu added 13 kills for the Green Wave.
