It is a different phase of his life, and the vantage points for his Masters debut were not secured from where he had always envisioned, but Colt Knost is nonetheless thrilled to be on site for this year’s Tournament.

“This is a great opportunity. Obviously, I had hoped to be here as a player, but sometimes life doesn’t play out the way you expect,” said Knost, the former PGA Tour competitor who is now a rising star in the world of golf media. “Who knows? Maybe this is what I was meant to do in golf.”

Thirteen years after turning professional and forgoing the opportunity to play in the Tournament as the U.S. Amateur champion, Knost, 35, is at the 2021 Masters as part of the CBS broadcast team. He’s been involved in the “Masters Live” streaming of featured groups, his latest assignment in a string of duties for the network that ushers him into a new career after playing in 199 PGA Tour tournaments over the course of 13 seasons.
