DENTON, Texas (SMU) - SMU women's tennis capped its regular season with a 4-0 road sweep of North Texas on Saturday at the Waranch Tennis Complex. The victory gives the Mustangs a 20-9 record heading into the conference championships, the most wins in a season since 2011.

The Mustangs didn't drop a set in the entire match at North Texas, cruising to their 10th sweep of the season.

The match started with a doubles victory with wins on lines two and three. Chandler Carter and Claudia Bartolome won their sixth-consecutive match with a 6-2 win. The duo have an 11-1 record together. Nicole Petchey and Winslow Huth won 6-2 to clinch the point. Huth and Petchey are unbeaten in their last 10 completed matches. Jackie Nylander and Hadley Doyle were up 5-3 with match point on the No. 58 doubles tandem in the country at the time of clinch.

In singles, Nylander took down court one, 6-4, 6-2 for the second Mustang point followed by Bartolome winning a pair of 6-2 sets on court four. Katherine Jakeway played line six for the Mustangs and won her match with two 6-4 sets, clinching the dual match victory for the Mustangs.

At the time of clinch, Petchey was one game away from a victory. Doyle was in the midst of a second-set tiebreaker, attempting to close out the match, and Carter had a 6-4, 3-2 lead on line three.

The 20-win regular season is the fourth most regular season victories in program history behind 1982, 2009, and 2010.
