Men's Golf Selected To NCAA Stillwater Regional
DALLAS- No. 21 SMU men's golf was selected to the NCAA Stillwater (Oklahoma) Regional, as the No. 4 seed. The event takes place May 16-19 at Karsten Creek Golf Club.
It is the Mustangs' 25th appearance in the NCAA Regionals since the format began in 1989 and the program's 36th overall appearance in the NCAA postseason. The last time the event was held, in 2019, SMU won a memorable playoff against Clemson to clinch the No. 8 seed in the NCAA Quarterfinals, the Mustangs' second appearance in the final eight since 2014.
The top five teams after 54 holes at each of the six regional sites, plus the top individual not on an advancing team, advance to the NCAA Golf Championships, held May 28-June 2 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. The Mustangs have advanced out of regional play in their last three appearances, in 2014, 2015 and 2019.
