Men's Golf's Goodwin, Meissner Named All-Americans By Golfweek

SMU's Noah Goodwin and Mac Meissner were named All-Americans by Golfweek, the publication announced Thursday. Goodwin earned First-Team honors, and Meissner was an Honorable Mention. Each player has been honored three times by the publication.

Goodwin, already a First Team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America, set the SMU record with a 70.00 scoring average in the 2021 season. He earned AAC Golfer of the Year Honors and was a finalist for both the Nicklaus Award and the Haskins Award. Goodwin posted five top-five finishes in eight events, including a win at the NCAA Stillwater Regional. Goodwin was on Golfweek's Second Team in 2020 and an honorable mention in 2019.

It is Goodwin's third All-America selection, after receiving honorable mention honors in 2019 and a Second Team nod in 2020. He is the first three-time All-American in the history of the SMU men's golf program. His teammate, Mac Meissner, can also earn a third All-American nod if he is later named to the Second Team, Third Team or as an Honorable Mention.

Meissner closed out his SMU career third on the Mustangs' career list in scoring average at 71.41 and fifth in par-or-better rounds (65). Meissner earned his third All-AAC honor in 2021 and was named the recipient of the Byron Nelson Award, posting a 71.46 stroke average. Meissner had six top-15 finishes in eight events, going even-par or better in 15 of 24 rounds. He was a Third Team selection by Golfweek in 2019 and a Second Team selection in 2020.
