Volleyball Adds Graduate Transfer Alison French To 2021 Roster

DALLAS (SMU) – SMU volleyball head coach Lisa Seifert announced the addition of Alison French to the 2021 roster. French, an Outside Hitter comes to the Hilltop as a graduate transfer after playing the past four seasons at UNLV. French will enroll in the Master of Liberal Studies program at SMU.
 
French is a two-time Fall Academic All-Mountain West Team member (2017 and 2019) and a one-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete Award recipient (2017-18).
 
Last season French played in 13 matches and 45 sets. She totaled 65 kills (1.44 kills/set) with a .229 hitting percentage. French helped lead UNLV to the NCAA Volleyball Championship but fell to the eventual NCAA Champions Kentucky in the Second-Round match in Omaha. Before that loss, the Rebels were a perfect 13-0 in 2021.

In 2019 she played in 32 matches and 118 sets. French had a total of 207 kills with nine matches of 10 or more, including a season-high 14 on two occasions. Allison totaled nine matches above a .300 hitting efficiency (minimum five kills) with a season-high .423 (14-3-26) vs. Kansas City (Dec. 5).

As a sophomore, she played in 14 matches and 39 sets. French had a total of 39 kills with a season-high nine at UNR (Nov. 1).  
 
French played in 15 matches and 43 sets in her first season notching 61 kills with a season-high 11 at UNR.
