Women's Tennis Adds Lexi Keberle As Transfer

SMU women's tennis head coach Jeff Nevolo announced the addition of transfer Lexi Keberle to the 2021-22 roster on Friday.

"Lexi adds high-level collegiate playing experience to our talented roster of student-athletes," said head coach Jeff Nevolo. "She has demonstrated the ability to be successful throughout her career and we believe she will build on that great foundation here at SMU. We can't wait to get started this fall!"

Keberle comes to SMU as a graduate senior after spending the last two seasons at NC State and her first two collegiate years at Wisconsin. Last season, Keberle registered 16 singles victories including eight in AAC play as the Wolfpack advanced to the National semifinal. She compiled four ranked singles victories during the campaign. In doubles, Keberle and her partner were ranked No. 61 in the final Oracle/ITA Rankings. In the shortened 2020 campaign, Keberle won 17 singles matches including five wins against ranked opponents and finished the year No. 83 in the rankings.

Before her time at NC State, Keberle played two seasons at the University of Wisconsin where she posted 50 singles victories playing on lines one and two. During, her sophomore season, she posted a pair of ranked wins and peaked at No. 46 in the ITA Rankings as the Badgers earned their first NCAA bid in 12 seasons. In 2017-18, Keberle was named First Team All-Big 10 as a freshman after leading the Badgers in wins.

Keberle hails from West Bend, Wisc. where she trained as a junior at Pleasant Valley Tennis Center and at the Western Raquet Club. At East High School, Keberle won the Division 1 State Singles Championships during each of her two seasons. She posted an incredible 61-0 singles record during her high school career.

Keberle joins a young Mustang roster returning 85% of its singles wins. The team is fresh off its best season since 2011, finishing ranked 45th in the country with 21 dual match victories.
