SMU's Noah Goodwin Selected To Preseason Haskins Award Watch List

SMU's Noah Goodwin found his way to his first preseason watch list of the 2021-22 season, earning a spot on the Preseason Haskins Award Watch List. Goodwin was a finalist in 2020-21 for the award, which is presented annually to the nation's top collegiate men's golfer.

Goodwin set the SMU record with a 70.00 scoring average in the 2021 season, and won medalist honors at the NCAA Stillwater Regional with a -15 under score. Goodwin had five top-5 finishes in eight events, and had an impressive run from Feb. 17 to May 18 where he shot a combined -39 in 16 rounds.

In addition to being a finalist for the Haskins Award, Goodwin had a large list of honors following the 2021 season, including being named the American Athletic Conference's Player of the Year. Goodwin was named All-Nicklaus, a First Team All-American, an AAC All-Conference selection and All-Central Region.

Goodwin was the nation's top-ranked golfer entering the NCAA Championships, and ranks eighth on the PGA Tour U rankings entering the season. Golf Channel's Brentley Romine selected Goodwin as the No. 13 golfer entering the season.
