Mustangs Fall 4-3 To Wisconsin

DALLAS (SMU) – Despite an early lead and continued success on court one from graduate senior Lexi Keberle, the SMU women's tennis team fell in a 4-3 decision against Wisconsin on Monday at the Stylinger/Altec Tennis Complex.

The Mustangs (6-5, 1-0 AAC) claimed a doubles victory off wins on lines one and three, taking an early 1-0 lead on the day. Jackie Nylander/Hadley Doyle claimed a 6-2 win over No. 35 duo Alina Murkhortova/Xinyu Cai, and Winslow Huth/Katherine Jakeway's 6-3 victory were both duo's first dual doubles match of the spring season.

Keberle earned her third consecutive win on court one in singles with a 7-5, 6-1 win over 76th-ranked Xinyu Cai. The graduate senior's dual singles record improved to 7-3 on the year.

Drew Morris' dual singles record improved to 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Wisconsin's Taylor Cataldi. Cataldi struggled to gain a foothold, with Morris not allowing her Badger opposition to win two-straight games at any point throughout the match.

SMU resumes spring action on Friday when the Mustangs host Houston at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex at 5 p.m.
