Women’s Tennis Adds Three to All-Conference Team

IRVING, Texas (SMU) – On Thursday, the American Athletic Conference selected SMU women's tennis' Hadley Doyle, Jackie Nylander, and Lexi Keberle to its all-conference team, marking the first time since joining the AAC in 2013 that three Mustangs were selected in the same season.

Doyle closed the dual season with four consecutive wins and a 10-7 dual record. The junior won six of her last seven singles contests, each against ITA top-60 ranked teams, including a three-set, court two win over No. 19 UCF's Noel Saidenova. Doyle was tabbed as AAC Player of the Week on March 15, the second weekly honor earned by the junior since the start of her SMU career.

Nylander closed the Mustangs' dual season with a team-best five-consecutive singles wins, including two victories in the AAC Tournament against Cincinnati and Tulsa. The junior closed the season with wins in nine of her last 10 recorded matches, compiling an 11-9 dual singles record.

Doyle and Nylander, as the Mustangs' court one doubles pair, amassed a 10-7 dual record that placed the duo as high as 33rd in the ITA National Doubles Rankings. Doyle/Nylander opened dual play 4-0, then won seven of eight doubles sets from March 6 to Apr. 10, a stretch which included a pair of wins against the 54th and 29th-ranked pairs versus Kansas and UCF, respectively. All-conference recognition marks back-to-back selections for both Doyle and Nylander.

Keberle, the Mustangs' competitor on court one throughout the year, finished the dual season with a team-best 13-5 singles record. The graduate senior pulled off a seven-match win streak which lasted from Feb. 27 to March 27 that included a straight-set win at No. 24 Baylor. Keberle notched five dual singles wins against ITA top-60 ranked teams. Keberle, along with doubles partner Lana Mavor, went 11-3 on court two in dual doubles, winning seven-straight contests to close the season, and nine of their last ten.

The No. 45 Mustangs closed the dual season with a 15-9 record (.714) and wins in four of their last five contests.
