Three Mustangs Earn AAC Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas (SMU/The American) – Courtney Sebazco was named American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Samantha Estrada and Julissa Cisneros were named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll.

Sebazco helped No. 15 SMU stay unbeaten on the season as she assisted on the game-winning goal and provided an insurance goal in a 2-0 win over Stephen F. Austin on Thursday. She also had two shots in the 1-1 tie at Oklahoma on Sunday. It is the second AAC Offensive Player of the Week honor for Sebazco this season, who is on the Hermann Trophy Watch List. She has two goals and two assists through the first five matches.

Estrada earned her second AAC Honor Roll nod of the season after recording four saves in the shutout against SFA and five saves in the tie at Oklahoma. She has 24 saves while allowing just three goals in 405 minutes this season.

Cisneros garnered her first AAC weekly honor after scoring the game-winning goal in the 2-0 win over SFA. It was her second goal of the season, as she also scored in the season opener against Rice.

SMU (3-0-2) hosts North Texas at Washburne Stadium on Thursday at 7 p.m.
