Yeager, Vroegh Collect NCEA Rider Of The Month Honors

WACO, Texas (NCEA/SMU) - SMU's Elli Yeager and Mallory Vroegh were named National Equestrian Association Riders of the Month. Yeager picked up honors in Fences, and Vroegh claimed the accolade in Horsemanship.

Both riders are 1-0 on the season after picking up crucial points in SMU's 10-9 victory over then-top-ranked Oklahoma State.

Former first-team Horsemanship all-American Mallory Vroegh claimed MOP honors, giving SMU the edge in the event, taking down Jojo Roberson 77.5-73 to earn a Mustang point.

Elli Yeager's 86 was good for an 86-83 victory over Sydney North, earning an SMU point. Yeager's performance landed last season's second team NCEA all-Fences team honoree MOP honors.

Saturday's victory moved SMU to No. 2 in the nation. The Mustangs are back in action Nov. 4 when they host No. 8 Baylor at the Dallas Equestrian Center.
