Watson Named AAC Swimmer Of The Week
RVING, Texas (The American/SMU) – Mustang captain Jenna Watson was named American Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week for her performance at the SMU Classic, league officials announced Tuesday.
Watson posted three career-best times in Championship Finals to help lead the Mustangs at the event. The honor is the first of her career.
In 400-yard individual medley action, Watson finished fourth with a career-best 4:18.58. Watson posted her second career mark on day one to finish sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:03.13. During day two action, she bested her career time in the 200-yard breaststroke, coming in at 2:16.29 for fifth.
The Mustangs swept AAC weekly awards three of four possible times in 2021-22, picking up eight of nine possible honors.
