SMU Gets Late Goal For 2-2 Tie Versus Cincinnati
Sebazco Penalty Kick In The 87th Minute Evened The Match

DALLAS (SMU) – SMU scored in the 87th minute to complete the rally from a two-goal deficit for a 2-2 tie against Cincinnati at Washburne Soccer and Track Stadium on Sunday.

The Mustangs (6-3-5, 1-3-2 AAC) tied the match in the 87th minute then Abby Dermott drew a foul in the box to get the Mustangs another penalty kick opportunity. Courtney Sebazco converted in the lower left for the Mustangs' second goal of the match.

Wayny Balata put SMU on the board in the 36th minute as she converted a penalty kick into the lower left of the goal. Balata drew the foul in the box that gave the Mustangs the opportunity.

The Mustangs found themselves trailing 2-0 in the 32nd minute when Maddie Thiss converted a penalty kick. Emma Schmelzer scored the first goal for UC (5-2-6, 1-1-3 AAC) when she headed a corner kick into the net in the 14th minute.

It was the annual Pink Match for SMU Women's Soccer, supporting the American Cancer Society and wearing pink jerseys to promote breast cancer awareness.

The Mustangs play at Tulsa in the final regular-season road match next Sunday at 1 p.m.
