From SMUMustangs.com:

Mustangs Fall 2-1 At FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla. (SMU)- No. 12 SMU fell to FAU 2-1 Friday night at FAU Soccer Stadium.

The Mustangs held a decisive 23-9 advantage in shots, including seven on goal. Additionally, the Mustangs held a 15-1 edge in corner kicks.

FAU jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Sebastian Zettl scored in the 15th minute.

Just before halftime, Kyran Chambron Pinho shot from behind the left corner of the 18, scoring on the right side of the goal to earn the Mustangs the equalizer. The goal marked Pinho's second score of the season.

FAU's Andreas Raisanen regained the Owl lead in the 81st minute.

The 12th-ranked Mustangs host No. 14 Tulsa in the regular season finale on Wednesday at 7 p.m. SMU's seniors Knut Ahlander, Eben Noverr, Judson Burns, Roman Knox, Bram Kaarsgaren and Henry Howell will be honored in a pregame ceremony at Washburne Soccer and Track Stadium.

SMU has 15 points, but is anything but out of the race.

Heading in to the last week of the season, Tulsa and FIU have 16 points, and SMU and South Florida have 15 ... and SMU hosts Tulsa Wednesday at Washburne Soccer & Track Stadium and FIU hosts FAU in the finale for each team.

So ... if SMU beats Tulsa, the Mustangs will have 18 points, in which case an FIU win over FAU gives FIU the regular-season title.

If Tulsa beats SMU and FIU wins, FIU wins the regular-season title, because it beat Tulsa earlier in the year and would have the tie-breaker.

If SMU beats Tulsa, and FIU either ties or loses to FAU, the Mustangs win the regular-season title.

Got it? There's a quiz later.

We've been playing with only 6 AAC teams for years and they came in this season. Rice and UNT field only women's soccer teams. UCF will be leaving the AAC leaving 9 teams next year as I'm not aware of any changes in store at Rice and UNT

Odd. Does men's swimming still have only 2 AAC teams?

Just SMU & Cincinnati. Men's Olympic sports have struggled for years to find a true conference to compete in. Just one of the negative effects of Title IX. Sure would be nice if they could have carved out an exception for football because even cash flush P5 programs have eliminated men's sports in order to comply. SMU is fortunate to still have men's swimming and diving, soccer, tennis, golf, etc... because all of those are offset by women's teams. Remember that our once prominent men's track and field program was shut down
