Feehery, Hoefer Earn AAC Weekly Honors
IRVING, Texas (The American/SMU)- Colin Feehery and Dominic Hoefer earned American Athletic Conference Honors, the league announced Tuesday. Feehery was named the men's Swimmer of the Week and Hoefer earned Diver of the week honors.
Feehery earned Swimmer of the Week honors after posting four NCAA B Cuts at the SMU Invite. The senior broke his own record to remain SMU's top all-time performer in the 200 IM after claiming first place with a time of 1:43.45. Feehery moved to fifth all-time on SMU's fastest performer list in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 53.39.
Feehery swam a time of 1:53.17 in the 200 breast, breaking his own record to remain second all-time on SMU's all-time fastest performer list. Additionally, he claimed the top spot in the 400 IM after touching the wall first at 3:43.82 and was a part of the Mustangs 400 medley relay, claiming first place and covering the distance in 3:08.66. The time broke the SMU program record in the event.
Dominic Hoefer was crowned Diver of the Week after he earned a pair of NCAA Zone Standards at the SMU Invite. Hoefer scored valuable points for the Mustangs after earning second place on 3-meter with a score of 326.25. A day later, Hoefer scored a 330.80 to earn a runner-up finish on 1-meter.
