No. 22 Mustangs Shut out Saint Louis in 1-0 Win

DALLAS (SMU) - Hermann Trophy candidate Jelldrik Dallmann posted his fourth goal of the season in No. 22 SMU's 1-0 win over Saint Louis at Washburne Stadium.

In the ninth minute, the reigning AAC Offensive Player of the Week scored off of a beautifully placed volley. Defender Lamar Bynum found forward Bailey Sparks, getting the ball to Dallmann. The Mustangs (4-1) went on to outshoot the Billikens 13-8.

"We gave everything out there and in the end we won," Dallmann said. "I just wanted to get a touch in and it went in. I'm happy and it was a perfect ball from Bailey."

SMU improved to 4-0 at home this season and 12-1-1 at Washburne Stadium since the start of last season.

Cole Johnson, a senior, started and played the full time in goal. He recorded one save against the Billikens (1-3)— securing his third shutout of the season.

Alexander Petræus, entered the game ranked first in the conference and sixth in the NCAA in most assists on the season, logged eight shots, two of which were on goal.

SMU continues its homestand on Monday against Yale. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. and the game will also be broadcast on ESPN+.
