Jamison Wheeler Named To AAC Weekly Honor Roll

IRVING, Texas (The American/SMU)-- SMU outside hitter Jamison Wheeler was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced on Monday.

Wheeler was named the SMU DoubleTree Invitational Most Valuable Player after recording 53 kills across three matches.

The junior started the weekend recording her first double-double of the season. Wheeler led the Mustangs with a season-high 19 kills and a career-high 26 digs in SMU's 3-2 win over Texas Tech. On Saturday, the junior outside hitter led the Mustang attack with 18 kills against Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Wheeler finished off the weekend, hitting .517 with 16 kills to lead the SMU to a sweep of LSU in the finale of the tournament. Wheeler added five digs against the Tigers.

SMU opens up AAC play Wednesday at 1 p.m. against Memphis in Moody Coliseum.
