Cole Johnson, Jelldrik Dallmann and Mads Westergren Earn AAC Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas (SMU/The American) - Cole Johnson was named the American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the third week in a row, with Jelldrik Dallmann also being named the Offensive Player of the Week. Mads Westergren earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced on Monday.

The conference honors follow a 2-1 win for No. 6 SMU over USF on the road, improving the Mustangs to a 2-0 record in conference play.

Johnson secured SMU's victory over the Bulls by logging five incredible saves — one of which was a penalty kick in the first half, keeping the Mustangs in the lead.

En route to his third straight AAC Goalkeeper of the Week honor, Johnson earned a shutout versus the Ivy League's Yale and four saves versus then-RV Memphis to secure the Mustang's win in their first conference game of the season.

Dallman aided SMU's move to 2-0 in conference play with a 2-1 win over South Florida, scoring both goals in the win. Dallman scored the game-winning goal with a penalty kick in the 59th minute.

As for the weekly honor roll member, Westergren anchored the backline to just six shots on goal in last week's win.

The Mustangs return to Washburne against Grand Canyon on Wednesday, with kickoff being slated for 7 p.m. The game will be live-streamed on ESPN+, with the Mustangs continuing their play at home exactly one week later against Charlotte.
