Defender Kyran Pinho Named to National Team of the Week

DALLAS (SMU) - In addition to being named the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Kyran Chambron Pinho has been named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week.

The junior, coming to the Hilltop from Germany, scored the game winning goal on the road against UAB on Friday. The free kick conversion allowed the Mustangs to secure at least a share of the AAC regular-season conference championship.

Against the Blazers, Pinho played the full ninety minutes and assisted the defense in limiting UAB to only one shot on goal.

For season totals, the defender has logged seven shots on goal and has also garnered two assists.

SMU, (11-1-2, 6-0-1 AAC), has one regular-season conference game left against Tulsa on Wednesday. The Mustangs will be honoring their senior class for Senior Night, with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.
