Rose, Annen Earn All-South Region Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (United Soccer Coaches/SMU) – Freshman Nyah Rose was named to the United Soccer Coaches' NCAA Division I All-South Region First Team, with sophomore Peyton Annen also receiving Third Team honors.

Rose was previously named the American Athletic Conference's Co-Rookie of the Year and was an All-AAC First Team selection after leading the conference with 11 goals in her freshman campaign.

Rose's 11 goals mark the sixth most goals scored by an SMU freshman in program history.

The Markham, Ontario, native tallied three matches with multiple goals, including a hat trick at Stephen F. Austin on Aug. 31. Rose's third multi-goal match came in the AAC Championship quarterfinal, scoring both of SMU's goals to help lift the Mustangs over Tulsa.

Rose also recorded two assists on the season and led SMU with three match-winning goals.

Annen was named to the All-AAC Second Team after scoring two goals and helping SMU force six shutouts on the season.

Annen, who led the Mustangs with 1600 minutes played on the season, also tallied an assist in SMU's victory over Rice on Sept. 14.

Both Annen and Rose were recognized on the AAC's All-Tournament Team after helping SMU reach its second consecutive AAC Championship final match.
