Five Mustangs Earn CSC Academic All-District Team Selections

DALLAS (SMU) — SMU soccer's Jelldrik Dallmann, Alexander Petraeus, Kyran Chambron Pinho, Alex Salvo and Fredrik Skilberg were named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, the association announced. The 2023 Academic All-District Soccer teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Jelldrik Dallmann, a Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, started every game this season. He went on to score 14 goals — tying for first in the American Athletic Conference in most goals scored. The Kuhstedt, Germany native also recorded five assists in his 1,285 minutes of play.

Dallmann was a unanimous First-Team All Conference selection and Second-Team All American. The AAC Championship Offensive Most Valuable Player earned a GPA of 4.0 in his Masters of Finance.

Teammate Alexander Petraeus tied for being the team leader in assists with five. The sophomore recorded one goal this season, at Denver. Petraeus earned two conference honor roll nods and logged a season total of 1,072 minutes.

Hailing to the Hilltop from Denmark, Petraeus maintains a GPA of 3.6.

Kyran Chambron Pinho is pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and holds a 3.5 GPA. In addition to his studies, Pinho started in 18 of SMU's 19 games this season. He scored the game winning goal against UAB — which earned him the AAC Defensive Player of the Week — and had three assists on the season.

A Mechanical Engineering student, Alex Salvo started in 14 games during the Mustangs' 2023 season. The sophomore scored the game winning goal against Memphis in the regular season. He logged 1,416 minutes of play while maintaining a 3.6 GPA.

Fredrik Skilberg, a sophomore and Stockholm, Sweden native, holds a 3.5 GPA. He logged 933 minutes of play and started in 15 games. Skilberg scored the game winning goal against Yale on Sept. 11 and had an assist in the season opener against UTRGV.

These five Mustangs led SMU to its 35th NCAA Tournament appearance, earning the sixth seed and winning the AAC title. As announced on Tuesday by United Soccer Coaches, SMU concluded 2023 as the No. 10 team in the country.

First, second, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced Dec. 19, 2023.
