Trevor Svajda Awarded Wild Card At SoCal Open

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (SMU) – SMU men's tennis freshman Trevor Svajda was awarded a main draw singles wild card at the 2024 USTA Southern California Open at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

"I am very honored to have the chance to play in the Southern California Open," said Svajda. "I want to thank SCTA Executive Director Trevor Kroneman and the entire tournament committee for their support and this opportunity."

Svajda will begin in the tournament's round of 32 against Tennys Sandgren and will also team up with his brother, Zach, in the doubles draw to take on Lucas Gerch and Sebastian Faneslow.

"It will be very special to play doubles with my brother and have the chance to compete back home," said Svajda.

Svajda, who joined SMU in the spring as the nation's No. 1 recruit, holds 4-0 singles and doubles records with the Mustangs.
