No. 40 SMU Falls 4-1 To No. 2 TCU

DALLAS (SMU) – The No. 40 SMU men's tennis fell 4-1 to No. 2 TCU at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on Thursday.

"These are the matches we train for," said Head Coach Grant Chen. "We came up a little short today, but we had an incredible fight from the whole team. We are really proud of the how the guys competed. We played very solid, tactical tennis to earn one of the best doubles points of the season. Every court was a battle in singles, giving credit to both teams. We are excited for many more matches with our cross-town rivals."

The Mustangs move to 16-8 on the season and finish this year's play at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex with 13-2 record. TCU marks SMU's 10th ranked opponent of the season.

SMU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by claiming the team doubles point. After a 2-2 draw between the first four games, Julian Steinhausen and Maks Silagy then took the next four games on court three to defeat TCU's Tomas Jirousek and Kaj Quirijns (6-2).
