Men's tennis falls to Tulane, 4-2, in AAC quarterfinals

Mustangs Fall 4-2 To Tulane In AAC Quarterfinals

TULSA, Okla. (SMU) – The No. 2 seed SMU men's tennis team fell 4-2 to No. 7 seed Tulane in the quarterfinal round of the American Athletic Conference Championships on Friday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

SMU moves to 17-10 on the season, including a 1-1 split with Tulane. Tulane improves to 9-14 with the quarterfinal win.

No. 34 Trevor Svajda earned his first AAC Tournament win with a defeat in straight sets of Tulane's Billy Suarez (6-2, 6-3). Svajda's victory marked his 16th of the season and second against Suarez.

Eric Hadigian tied the score at two by winning his singles match in straight sets versus Alex Bancila (6-2, 6-2), improving the graduate student to a 10-5 spring record.

Tulane would go on to win three singles matches after taking the doubles point to clinch the match.
