Just moved back in town. Did I miss the $.60 burgers at Burger House?

True — the onion rings at Maple & Motor did nothing for me. Tasted like they were dipped in dishwater or something. Cheese fries were decent but not great. The beef in the burger was sensational. Bun was odd, but the beef itself ... delicious.

Got to disagree with you, 2ndandlong — Jake's is lightyears better than Burger House. Not even close!

The Jake's/Burger House feud is often evenly divided between HP youth and LH youth. Like a border war or something. I am a Burger House HPer who is slowly being converted to Jakes. I can ride the trolley up McK, that helps a lot.

It was yesterday. We went to BH on Mockingbird Lane. Waited an hour for our $.60 cheeseburgers, fries and milkshake. Several SMU athletes from the football, swimming and golf teams were there, too. What a great marketing/PR ploy to get customers into BH!

what a waste of an hour to save $4. is your time not worth more than that?

not trying to be rude, but it's a time value of money thing for me. it would take me 2 hours or more to do what my yard guys can do in quite a bit less time. so $35 to NOT spend my time doing that is worth it to me.

Actually, it was fun. My wife and I got to visit with my stepdaughter and her boyfriend while we waited so the time was not wasted. And we visited with some other patrons including some of the SMU athletes and coaches. It was a "once-in-a-lifetime" event so I'm not sorry I participated.

As a side note: I have yet to patronize In-N-Out Burgers. But I have patronized Lakewood's 1st and 10 within the past week! :)

Ya'll were very accommodating for me and my Sam Houston State friends last Saturday when we watched the Div. 1 FCS quarterfinals playoff game between the Bearkats and the Montana State Bobcats on ESPN at Lakewood's 1st & 10. Thanks again!
