Sounds like the General District Court judge here in Alexandria one day he got bored with all of the traffic court excuses and he said we're going to make this quick and he asked the first defendant, do you want justice or mercy. "Justice", the guy replied. Then you're Guilty $100 fine. Next guy do you want Justice or Mercy. The guy visibly shaken, said Mercy, I guess. Then I find you guilty and order that the guilty verdict be expunged. Next case. Everyone asked for mercy and docket was cleared in less than an hour.

from today's DMN:

WASHINGTON – With his wife – an SMU grad – at his side, President Bush said Thursday that he hasn't decided on a winner in the high-stakes competition among the three Texas universities vying for his library and archives.

Mr. Bush, in an interview on his 60th birthday, told CNN's Larry King that he doesn't know yet where to build the presidential library when he leaves the White House, and he gave no clue on when an announcement would be made.

"We are Texans, and that's where we're going home to, but I'm sure there'll be a lot of questions the closer we get to the end of eight years about this, that and the other," Mr. Bush said.

The finalists are Baylor University in Waco, with its close locale to the Bush ranch in Crawford; Southern Methodist University, which has touted its urban setting; and the University of Dallas, which has offered a large tract of land in Irving.

Landing the library is expected to bring a bonanza of publicity and donations. SMU has been considered a front-runner, partly because of its many ties to the president and his wife, Laura, who is a university trustee but did not speak about the library on the King program.

"We've got a lot to do and a lot of problems to solve and ... a lot of peace to make," Mr. Bush said.
