They should switch to gelding. I know where they can get some.

Friend came into town and wanted to hit the Old Monk.

Anyone else ever try the Monk Burger? Wow. Fantastic. They top it with caramelized onions, bacon and something they call "Welsh rarebit" (a blend of cheddar, ale, spices and worcestershire, according to their menu), and it is unreal.

Messy as hell, but extremely tasty.

Sampled the whiskey cheddar bacon burger at Idle Rich pub tonight.

Toppings were good, but the burger itself was not. There will be no repeat of that order. Completely void of any taste. Had that nice "cateria burger" feel to it.

"cateria burger"...so how were the drinks?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

you know, i've never been impressed with the food at idle rich. those guys have a winner at the Monk, but idle rich and capital pub's food has been a let down.

was that a joke?

Of course. Everybody knows the Irish can't make a good burger. The Dutch? Now that's a different story altogether.

Dutch,

I was at the gym at lunchtime and overheard a lakewoodite telling someone relocating to lakewood about the great bar he had just discovered, 1st & 10. Said the burger was amazing.

Do I get a free beer for reporting the good publicity?

Had one of the best burgers ive had in a while at the 1st and 10 Tuesday night. Was done a perfect medium rare/medium and was all warm and well executed. Love how they cut it in half with the paper wrap surrounding it.
Also has anyone tried Burger Girl? Saw their menu where you can get a fried egg on your burger that sounds awfully good. Think its called the hangover burger.
