SMU cycling jersey

Postby Diamond Girl » Tue Apr 25, 2006 4:53 pm

I received the following message earlier today, for any of you who bike:

Tommy and Don have graciously let me use the Diamond M for a custom
cycling jersey I am having made. I am an old school SMU fan and alum
and the Diamond M expresses SMU pride more than any symbol short of
Peruna. I just got too disturbed seeing all of the TCU jerseys on
the numerous bike rides I do. Eventually I want to resurrect the SMU
cycling club as well, but that is a future project...

We are having Verge make the jersey for us. I have been given a late
June delivery time, just in time for Hotter than Hell etc. The
jersey will be red, SMU Dallas Hall logo on the front, blue collar
and sleeve stripes, pony on the back with the Diamond M SMU logo
below it. "Mustangs" will be written in white. I know this is short
notice but we need a few more people who want to buy the jersey. Let
me know by May 1st if you want one. The cost will be about $70 to
cover the cost. This is not a fund raiser or attempt to generate any
profit but an opportunity to fill a void in SMU support.

Show your spirit and remind TCU cyclist we beat them last year!

Also, an image should be available later this week, and when I get it, I'll post it.

Count me in. I am an avid rider and had hoped that a SMU jersey would become available. As a matter of fact, I am planning a cross country ride this summer and would love to have one to wear for the trip.

Does this mean the SMU licensing department is starting to lose its stranglehold on clothing and other items with the Mustang logo? Sure hope so!

I need a large. Do I need to call the office or are orders being taken on Ponyfans?

(and those that know me, no it is not for me and yes I know that I could not fit into a large bike jersey.)

I'm guessing you need to call the office. They're not being sold through PonyFans.com.

Mrydel, you should call the office number I provided. I'm just passing along the information to this site. :)

Have you been able to get your hands on a picture of the SMU Jersey?

Saw someone wearing the jersey today around White Rock. Looked great. What's the 411 on ordering one?
