Double major question

Postby Indeed » Wed Aug 05, 2015 6:46 pm

I was a Meadows student and due to credits, was able to turn a minor into a second major within Dedman by taking a few more classes. When they told me I would have to apply for graduation at both schools that made me wonder what my diploma would actually say, if anything in regards to the two schools. Two diplomas?

You get two diplomas no matter what. Same school, same degree (BA/BS), whatever. You'll always get a diploma for each one.

I ended up with two SMU diplomas the same way. At graduation, I had to pick one "school" graduation to attend.

I had a BA and BS, but they only gave my a diploma for the BA. I didn't care enough to call and bug them for a separate one for my BS. You can walk at both, one, or neither of the ceremonies.

When did you graduate? I'm seeing that they now have an all-school graduation ceremony and then a diploma awarding ceremony later that day at separate times per school/major.

Slight update. Graduation was this past Saturday and while I had a double major from two different schools, only received one diploma with signatures from both deans.
