SMU has a rich soccer history. That would be a mistake.

We are bleeding money from athletics so choices have to be made. Why rebuild a soccer field, when we already have a lacrosse field. Also lacrosse brings a bunch of notoriety in exactly the geography and demographic where we pull students, and soccer really doesn't.

if we were P-5 would be great to have both. If you can get lacrosse and all you have to do is drop soccer it would seem like a better use of funds.

Playoffs are a lot of fun. Encourage you to check them out if you get the chance.

The schedule for the MCLA playoffs has been announced. SMU's first game is against the #3 Cal-Poly Mustangs. Cal-Poly's only loss of the season was against #4 Grand Canyon University (10-9). This game is scheduled for 4:30 pm on May 9th. What I don't know is, what time zone this applies to... West Coast (I think), so 2:30 PM Central.

All of the games are going to be broadcast on LaxTv, so you can stream them while at the office (try not to get caught).

I guess I shouldn't drink and try to figure out time zones. That should be a valuable lesson about posting from Happy Hour

No. 15 Southern Methodist (16-0) vs. No. 2 Cal Poly (14-1), 4:15 p.m.
Don’t let the seeding throw you off – this is a compelling matchup that could very well end up in tight grinder. Both of these Mustangs have extremely strong defenses that propelled them to conference championships. Cal Poly has certainly played the stiffer schedule, but SMU is a fearless bunch led by perhaps the best goalie in the country, Adam Connolly. In reality, SMU’s biggest challenge will be scoring goals, because Cal Poly has managed to grind down some of the best offenses in the west.
