A lot of seniors got their competitive college admissions decisions within the last week. Do you know any Pony bound students? Where else were they considering?

"It does seem like not very many people are excited to attend SMU. No freaking out. No drama. No 'I can't concentrate today...."

SMU applicants are probably cooler under pressure. :-)

Yep, got a friend whose kid is rolling the dice with half of them. BU is the backup. No GTown or Hopkins and deferred at Columbia, parents' alma mater.

Did your kid apply to some Ivies? If it's down to Vandy and A&M so far, I'm gonna guess no Brown, Penn or CU applications.

Oops. My "guy" is not my son (age <3) but a relative. He should have a good shot at getting into the 1 Ivy that he applied to. Nevertheless, I expect he'll end up the first Aggie in the family.

($60k per year X 4) vs. Essentially Free

When you are planning to attend graduate school, the math is very compelling.

No funding at Vandy and full tuition scholarship at A&M? National Merit? Not as much scholarship money as UT? That's why I would've gone to A&M over UT. Engineering is higher rated at UT but they're close enough.

Ivies released results at 5 EST. Slew of rejects on College Confidential.

Met someone tonight whose kid is an Eagle Scout. Wait listed to SMU (top choice) and accepted to BU and TCU. Any recommendations for getting off the wait list?
