Forbes has all of them listed as billionaires

http://www.forbes.com/profile/david-gef ... llionaires

Geffen 6.5 billion...UT dropout, but that is still an alumni

http://www.forbes.com/profile/jeffery-h ... llionaires

Hildebrand $4+ billion

McCombs $1.4

http://www.forbes.com/profile/billy-joe ... llionaires

Hicks is not listed, but he is close for sure and selling a home (non performing asset) for $100 million will probably help him climb back up there soon enough

Moncrief is not listed as well, but he is surely close and some other list still have him at a billion or so

so that leaves Moulay Abdallah ben Ali Alaoui which is probably more difficult to determine for a number of reasons

still the list is not accurate and there are other UT billionaires out there that I am sure are not listed or as well known

depending on how the estate was set up Joe Jamail III could be one as well, but I believe his father was not going to leave most of it to his kids, but III is a UT Alumni as well

Hicks not close, neither is moncrief or jamil. Any school could play the almost game -don't be so desperate.

UT has Dell, Moncrief, McCombs, Moulay Abdallah ben Ali Alaoui, Jeffery Hildebrand, David Geffen, Hicks and probably several others as well

Robert Rowling earned his undergraduate degree from UT.

Jamail would be on the list if he was alive

if he left his estate to his son (I don't think he left most of it to him) even after taxes his son would probably make the list

Moncrief would be very very close

http://www.forbes.com/profile/william-moncrief-jr/

one can say "not with oil down", but then one can say the same about real estate, bank stock prices, investment returns, the value of some tech stock ect for a large number of people on the list from a number of schools

Hicks does not seem to get much publicity these days (a much as in the past), but even when he was way down it was estimated he was worth $700 million and I would imagine he has recovered since then and selling his house for $100 million and putting that cash to work will help more

even so it is clear the list shown is not accurate UT can count more than 3 easily

You just listed three people who are not billionaires so yes, the list is pretty accurate.

It's ok - nobody would expect state schools or junior colleges to produce as much success as the best private schools.
