2% higher yield made a big difference. Any idea what the target enrollment figure is? 1,500?

question for those that know. Do these SAT average include all scores, and convert the ACT to the SAT, or are each of these numbers only that specific test? Seems like everyone is moving to ACT so wonder how much longer SAT will even be used for comparison purposes.

Progress on applications (these are finished applications - talking to you TCWHO), admitted (lower) and yield (higher). Overall student quality highest in Texas other than Rice.

They don't include all. Only verbal and math. They aren't factoring in writing. SAT is on a 2400 scale now

6000 people accepted to get to 1500 smh. [deleted] poor recruiters.

Numbers are for that specific test. Yes, either more students are taking the ACT than the SAT, or for some reason somehow we are admitting more ACT takers than SAT takers

More students are taking the ACT.

Some students reported scores from both the SAT and ACT. 685 entering freshmen reported SAT scores and 1,029 reported ACT scores, adding up to 1,714. The class size was 1,522.

Wow - about 150 SAT points between SMU and TCU. I think our football team is closer to theirs in quality than they are to us in academics.

A 24% yield isn't very good but other comparable schools have lower yields:

TCU - 23%
Rochester - 23%
BU - 21%
Pepperdine - 21%
Tulane - 20%
UCSD - 20%
Baylor - 19%
Miami - 17%
Case Western - 15%
Denver - 14%
Fordham - 12%

Baylor and TCU are pretty much open admission if you have the money to pay the full freight.

Denver and TCU aren't either. I should've said comparable and/or of local interest. Denver was included as a rich private school in an urban area. I don't know of any that are wealthy and haven't been admitted to TCU/Baylor but do know some that missed out on SMU.

Yield would be hard to accept if the results were poor students. We have the second highest student quality in the state. They obviously have lots of choices, and if you win one in four kids with 1320 SAT you are probably doing pretty well.

It would bug me if I was losing three out of four kids who average 1150 SAT 's like TCU.
