Glad they are leaving ! Football is terrible ; basketball now very mediocre. Would much rather have one
of the service academies for football and a good mid-major basketball only school.

Stinks for Temple losing their closest rival for both sports, but would like to see Navy move to the east for football and maybe invite BYU for football only in the west? Could leave hoops at 11 members and AAC could play 20 conference games so you get everyone home/home. That would mean top 5 finishers get 1st round bye in conference tourney as bottom six play their way into the 2nd round.

I'd add Army for football. Lots of tradition and respect for the service academies, plus a ready fan base in nearly every city.

Probably leave basketball, unless you can make a grab for Gonzaga - which would never happen.

Please don’t add another triple option, cut blocking team.

Agree. BYU would be my choice as they currently play football as an Independent

For basketball I'd like to see SLU -- good TV market and SMU traditionally has strong St. Louis area representation in the student body. VCU has a better basketball program of late, but it falls short in the above categories.

Plus, SMU basketball already has a Billik

Where did you get a photo of Rick Billik, nicknamed the Beaker?

It appears this will be the last season in the AAC. Suggestions for replacement?

Thier football program needs to go to the Southland Conference.

Gosh, I'm gonna miss those leisurely autumn drives up from Dallas to Connecticut to watch a football game

Army had a terrible time in Conference USA and is more than comfortable as an independent.

BYU makes more money with its own TV deal than the AAC can offer, and plane trips east probably have limited interest in Provo.

The AAC would either stick with 11 or look to Conference USA, which could be anyone from Marshall to FIU and UAB. Rice and UNT seem unlikely.

I agree 100%.

How much money do they currently make and how does it compare with the new AAC deal?

As for plane trips east, count how many they have in their current and future schedules. https://fbschedules.com/ncaa/byu/
