Jordan said that the administration has faced “continual pressure by the University Senate and some members of the faculty to look at athletics" and a fiscal working group tasked with analyzing the budget difficulties “echoed those sentiments.”
“The athletics department is working [deleted] some strategies that could reduce the subsidy by as much as 25 percent,” he added, referring to the funds that the university allocates to the department. UConn Athletics said in a statement that the department was reviewing “all potential revenue- and expense-based solutions.”

Connecticut should be thinking long and [deleted] why they just walked away from their American TV money.

They need to give up on football and pray that basketball survives. In the future, they’re far more likely to resemble Miracle-on-Mockingbird UConn than Fiesta Bowl UConn.

Their men’s and women’s basketball team and tradition isn’t going anywhere.

Return to the Big East will be good for UConn and they would be wise to drop to FCS football like the rest of the Big East schools that even bother to play football. Nova has demonstrated you can be successful in both

has to be just football.

those kids will be able to immediately transfer and the good ones can vastly improve their situation. Any of them interesting to us at all?
