Disappointing drop but it's by one spot due to ties. Like Fordham, SMU went from #68 to #72. TCU dropped six and Baylor dropped two.

15. Rice
37. UT-Austin
44. Tulane
51. Villanova
55. Pepperdine/Santa Clara/Miami
62. Syracuse/GWU
67. A&M
72. SMU/Fordham/IU
77. Baylor/Loyola Marymount
89. TCU
127. OU
137. Alabama/UAB/UCF/Tulsa
151. Cinci/UTD/Ole Miss
176. LSU/Arkansas
182. Houston/Ok State/Louisville
194. MS State
212. UNM/Wazzu
219. TX Tech
234. ECU/West Virginia

Texas has been moving up quite a bit recently.

SMU and TCU are basically equal in academics now. I remember when SMU was 58 and TCU was like 108.

TCU was #108 in 2009 when SMU was #67. TCU’s worst ranking was 113 in 2010. They dropped to 76 in 2015 but have risen 13 spots since then. Similarly, SMU has dropped 14 spots since 2015 (#58 rank).

There’s been a recent shift at US News to focus on economic diversity and SMU has responded but it will take time to move the needle.

Baylor has more of the Christian vibe like A&M.

I see parallels between RGT & Jerry Jones.

Initially Good.

Then both way overstayed their welcomes, neither wants to retire.

Years ago I use to think, once they exit, things will improve. Now i look at our BOT and Stephen and think…maybe not.

Agree. We're wearing out the belt on the treadmill of mediocrity.

TCU is putting that Big XII money to good use. Meanwhile SMU has to rely on decrepit donors to keep our fledgling football team alive
