Re: No Justice, No PeaceFor you more knowledgeable b-ball people, realistically how will this affect SMU?
Long live Inez Perez!
Re: No Justice, No Peace
We must have Hamilton Burger representing us.
Re: No Justice, No PeaceI don't think lack of summer unofficials matters, nor does 7 over 3 years. Roll w 10, bring fball kids back, no worries. 13 is a positively ridiculous number of ships to have for hoops and most power programs never use them, unless to satisfy GPA and reward walk-ons. Larry is far better off managing rotation w 8 or 9 than 13
Re: No Justice, No PeaceUNC new allegations letter will be released today. Basically the same as last year's, but hey they had a nice tourney run right?
Re: No Justice, No PeaceWhy did Cuse get scholarships back and we did not? What facts are different here?
I wish very bad things upon Mark Emmert. If he died, I wouldn't be upset.
Re: No Justice, No Peacewhat we need more than anything else is someone who has a friend, and that friend has a friend, that knows a guy. Bada Bing, Bada Boom. No mas......
Re: No Justice, No Peace
I am beginning to wonder if this is more than just one Secretary taking a single non-college credit course for a single player, and the golf team violations must be more serious that we are being told. Just send 'da money.
Re: No Justice, No PeaceGolf violations must be more serious? Haha, its golf, by definition it's inconsequential and should not cause us to lose possibly millions of dollars of revenue from basketball. I can't imagine the NCAA allowing golf or equestrian violations to impact or compound UNC basketball punishments. The whole thing about Syracuse that I don't get is this: regardless of old rules vs. new rules, its all relative when talking about relief from the original punishment on appeal. Why would they get relief and we get none? Appeal is about demonstrating cooperation and getting thrown a bone. we got thrown a bone alright.
No Justice, No PeaceMost of you think the golf coach did nothing but he got a show cause penalty which the ncaa rarely does

Re: No Justice, No PeaceAs far as the ncaa is concerned, it comes down to two words...Larry Brown. They don't like him. They don't like his success. I bet that is Coach J was head coach, they would have come down a lot easier.
Re: No Justice, No PeaceThis might be an extreme suggestion... but why wouldn't the SMU AD or someone in the Athletic Department intentionally hold a news conference with TV/Radio Media present? This would be major National News Story directed at the NCAA (instead of being swept under the rug).
SMU can use the media to put pressure on the NCAA to punish North Carolina and Louisville. Someone needs to hold the NCAA accountable. Maybe state that SMU humbly accepts our punishment for whatever we are being accused of and be specific 1) Keith Frazier is no longer on the team or enrolled at the school 2) Coach Maligi is no longer working at SMU, took a job at Texas A&M 3) This was a one-off offense (one player, one coach) 4) No other player or coach was involved 5) We are happy to run an up and coming, clean program at SMU ... and then... 1) Mention North Carolina and their allegations 2) Mention the ESPN Outside the Lines TV Reports and Rashaad McCants Interview (and other media reports) 3) Mention Louisville and their allegations 4) Mention the Book and the ESPN Outside the Lines TV Reports (and other media reports) 5) *Mention that neither school has been punished by the NCAA End the news conference with a few questions for the NCAA 1) What is fair and proportional punishment for North Carolina and Louisville? 2) When should North Carolina and Louisville expect learn of their punishments? I recognize that this will never happen, but a man can dream right?
Re: No Justice, No Peace
hahahahahaha
Re: No Justice, No Peace
That would take cojones. I think we got neutered a long time ago.
Re: No Justice, No PeaceOr, you wait for the UNC and Louisville punishments to come out and do something at that time.
I think it is obvious that in the NCAA's mind, they found out about stuff, we didn't self report, and LB was trying to cover things up. Period.
