Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPN
That definitely helps, i just thought it was crazy that ESPN would announce some deal when they weren't sure. With CBS reporting, that helps. Insert "this is fine" GIF

Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPNI wonder who UH goes for now? They've done a fantastic job landing up-and-comers in recent years with Sumlin and Herman.
Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPNBo Pelini might be a good fit. He is universally regarded as a jerk that wins football games. He might very well stick around Houston for a while.
Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPNWhat happens with the OC position? Does Gilbert stay? I do think Applewhite can come due to pending litigation.
Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPNWhat's up ponies?
From a coog's POV...Even though I knew it was coming, it still stings and I am bitter about him leaving. Taking a step back to look at it though, who can blame him? The ugly truth is that no matter how much we win, we will never be a destination job unless we're in a P5 conference. Texas is a legit top 5 job and those do not come along often. I am just upset about how these things go down, mainly feeling bad for the student athletes. If you look at our players' twitter feeds, a lot of them felt legitimately betrayed. The good news is that I believe we can hire another coach that is just as good, if not better than Herman. I guess it is a good thing when other schools hire our coaches, at least it means we're winning games. I am fine with keeping a guy for only 2-3 years as long as we continue to win big and raise our national profile. Supposedly there are a few current P5 head coaches interested in the position (Dana Holgersen, Mike Leach, Sonny Dykes). Personally I am hoping for another young, up and coming P5 assistant. My pick right now would be the OC from Oklahoma, Lincoln Riley. What is the latest news on Chad Morris?
Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPNNCAA should legislate that Coaches must stay "in school" 3 years before eligible for the Coaches Draft

Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPNMike Leach at UH would be fun.
Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPNI think they can do better than Mike Leach. The benefit to landing Leach is he would probably stay there indefinitely.
Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPN
Wth... didn't you just say on a recent thread that you think that Morris is staying? Source???
Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPNSo Texas gets a jump start and may now be able to retain who they want from Charlie's class, take anyone they want from Herman's Houston class and more than likely take anyone they like from Baylor's class. Together with the returning roster, Charlie may be right that "whoever" coaches at Texas next year will win 10 games.
Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPNBaylor class????
Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPNHerman is going to steal the lone player Baylor has committed, ha. Guessing they will have better options than a 3 star athlete, that committed to Baylor in July, to help round out the class.
Re: Texas to hire Tom Herman per ESPN
former class, I should have said
