So you are not hoping that for all the players, just Sutton?

Signing bonuses don't take you to retirement. I personally would support him regardless of his decision. It was his to make. But I think he gave a good reason to do what he did. Of course Rebel will argue whether or not water is wet so it doesn't matter what I say.

We are lucky to have Courtland at SMU. That press conference was great PR for the school and for recruiting. Everyone heard what he had to say about SMU and why he wants to stay in school another year. That wouldn't have happened if he simply tweeted he was coming back. I expect Courtland to shatter every single season SMU receiving record next year and be picked in the top 15 next year after he earns his SMU degree. I love this kid.

I am not trying to argue but I think your statement is ignorant. His signing bonus can pay for him finishing up his degree and the job he would get with that degree in which you speak of. And that would take him to retirement. But I do support him just hoping he stays healthy.

I have never spoke to this young man so I can't make a concerted opinion. But a college degree means zero if you don't possess General skill sets. Smart enough to stay probably good enough to play.

Just think if Keith Frazier applied at your place of employment ...

I wonder if he will purchase an injury insurance policy?
But it looks like that is not as easy as it sounds.

I think that if you are projected at a high enough level that the school can pay for the policy and then be reimbursed either when a contract is signed or the policy is paid. I am not sure of all the details but he is probably projected high enough to be covered.

some of you guys that think football players- yes even minority football players- don't have a life after football are pathetic. Most professional athletes are broke 2 years after their professional careers are over. 78% of NFL players according to one study. Coloring with a pretty broad brush

I don't believe you can get an insurance policy if you have had a previous injury. They are also hard to collect on as Jaylon Smith had to sue his insurance company to collect and all he got was $900.000 while he missed on 19 million by getting hurt.

As I said I would support him either way he would have decided. And yes of course he could come back and get a degree but that does not happen that often. I hope he stays healthy has a big year and gets more next year than he could have this year. Sorry if that is ignorant.

You sounded as if he could not come back and get a degree. That is what sounded ignorant.
