Top 25Moderators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Top 25First AP poll is out and SMU received 3 votes.
BTW, based on these preseason rankings we will play #3 (possibly), #6 (possibly), #7 (twice), #10 and #12 (twice). Now that is a big boy schedule. http://www.cbssports.com/college-basket ... -poll/amp/ SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Re: Top 25Ha! We got three votes last week but it looks like those are gone because they all came from Chris Dachille who works in Baltimore. He had us at #23. Since I’m sure he saw us struggle against UMBC he completely left us off his ballot this week. Oh well.

Re: Top 25Will get there and that's good enough.
Re: Top 25If we go 4-0, I think we will receive votes again before Atlantis.

Re: Top 25
Wonder if he docked Kentucky for barely beating Vermont at home? I personally don't care, that's what these games are for in the first place, to work out bugs, however, a little consistency would be nice from the pollsters. But that's one thing we have not seen from them the past few years with us. Just keep improving Mustangs!
Re: Top 25we're not a Top 25 team right now--and that's all right

Re: Top 25
Agreed. And we lost a lot of pieces. However, we finished what #11 last year? The PROGRAM should get some votes at least out of respect. But, then again, we haven't even won a tourney game yet so . . .
Re: Top 25
Programs like ours (recent upstart), in Conferences like ours (tweener between power and midmajor), don't get that type of respect. Never have never will. Most voters don't know anything about teams in question (especially) early). All they see is only return 2 starters 5 new comers ect.
Re: Top 25We added one believer in this week's AP:
Others receiving votes: Alabama 98, Rhode Island 55, Virginia 45, TCU 43, Providence 36, Missouri 32, Virginia Tech 17, Wisconsin 9, Texas 7, Michigan 7, Texas Tech 6, Butler 6, Oklahoma 5, Arkansas 4, Mt. St. Mary's 4, SMU 4, Middle Tennessee 3, Nevada 2, Oakland 2, Dayton 2, Maryland 2, Harvard 1, Oregon 1, South Carolina 1
Re: Top 25Yes, very random - David Cobb from Chattanogga has us at #22.

Re: Top 25WSU looks very very good. And a rowdy arena for a terrible game last night. Pumped to have them in the conference
Re: Top 25Good to see from Sagarin perspective for the conference:
#6 - Cincy #8 - Wichita State Then taking on: #26 TCU #27 USC It would be huge for us and the conference if we can knock both of those off. I know we are a young team so have to keep expectations lower than usual. SMU at #40 A little bum with our conference despite AAC ranked at #7 as expected but I hope the others pull in surprises: UCF #54 UCONN #58 Houston #65 Real big drop off: #103 Temple #109 Memphis #117 Tulsa Even bigger drop off: #164 Tulane #169 ECU #295 USF (Way to go guys!)
