Meet the Mustangs: WRs coach David Gru

Postby PonyPride » Sat May 05, 2018 2:28 am

SMU receivers coach David Gru visited with PonyFans.com to discuss how he ended up on the Hilltop, what it was like to play for SMU head coach Sonny Dykes as compared to coaching for him, whether the early departures of Courtland Sutton and Trey Quinn to the NFL caused him any hesitation in his decision to come to SMU, and which receivers caught his eye during spring workouts.

PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.

Hearing him talk about Proche is very similar to how the Cowboys coaches talked about Dez.

I have to admit, it was a difficult watch.

It'll be interesting to see if he can get anything out of Alex Honey this season.

Reading between the lines, did he seem a little down on Proche? Surely he is too young to have "coach speak" refined to a fare thee well. All in all, the staff appears better, but the proof is in the puddin'. I expect great things from Page.

That's why I made my comment. It is like hearing the Cowboys coaches in "All or Nothing" talk about Dez. Consistency needs to step up to be great. Otherwise he will lose his spot. It will go one way or the other in the fall.

I took it more like "he has talent but i want to see it in games"

Totally OK with it if that's his view
