Woulfe, Nordmann Earn All-Tournament Honors After 3-0 Win Against Louisiana

FORT WORTH, Texas (SMU) – SMU defeated Louisiana in straight sets Saturday (25-14, 25-20, 26-24). Senior Brittany Adams posted her second-consecutive double-double with 14 kills and 11 digs to lead the Mustangs.

Lexi Nordmann and Rachel Woulfe were named to the Fight in the Fort All-Tournament team. Woulfe scored 30 kills with a .304 attack percentage in three matches, while Nordmann averaged 1.08 blocks per set with 13 total and scored 28 kills.

Louisiana battled late in the third, spoiling the first three SMU chances for match point, erasing a three-point deficit. The Mustangs never relinquished the lead, scoring on a kill by Adams and a block by Lexi Nordmann and Hannah Jacobs for the 26-24 win. With the victory, SMU improved to 2-6 on the season.

​​​​​​​Woulfe scored 13 kills, reaching double figures for the second time this season, and Montana Watts had 27 digs to anchor the defense. SMU hit .242 as a team while holding the Ragin' Cajuns (7-4) to a .143 attack percentage. Both of SMU's setters eclipsed 20 assists in the three-set win. Freshman Lily Heim had 22 assists and five digs, while Kendall Patterson tallied 20 assists with five digs and an ace.

The Mustangs were in control from the start of the first set, taking an 11-5 lead before Louisiana called it first timeout. SMU outscored the Ragin' Cajuns 16-7 on the attack, hitting .297, for a 25-14 victory. Adams led the way with six kills, and three different players served an ace to score for SMU.

SMU broke a 9-9 tie in the second set with a 5-2 run for a 14-11 lead. The advantage was enough for the Mustangs to take a 2-0 lead in the match with a 25-20 win. This time it was Woulfe taking charge of the offense with six kills.
