Re: US News rankings come out Sept 10After the student loan bubble pops...
LOL! By the way there was an excellent article in investors business on that very subject, explaining how it has already started and of course SMU is still in the stables and not on the track. BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Re: US News rankings come out Sept 10I think they will start it in 2020, and it will be weighted more than ever on scholarship and teaching and research and less on facilities.
Before then though, there will be announcements about Cox. They cant afford to wait on Cox - gotta get facilities and scholarship money pumped into the bell cow quickly.
Re: US News rankings come out Sept 10Seems like we could use a big fundraising for athletic facilities too.
An object at rest cannot be stopped!
Re: US News rankings come out Sept 10I wish we had a design like Rice, Baylor, TCU and UH where you can watch the game from the concourse in the rain or extreme heat. (yea I know height restrictions). Rice was onto something way back in the 1950s with that covered concourse that everybody copies now. In the Cotton Bowl we always had seats about 5 rows under the second deck-also nice

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: US News rankings come out Sept 10
This is nutty. Our undergrad BBA standardized tests are higher than UT. Although that's not the only measure - it is important enough to put us way higher on this list.
Re: US News rankings come out Sept 10I actually do believe SMU Cox undergrad is a top 20 program nationally. I can't think of 20 programs better.
Re: US News rankings come out Sept 10Top to bottom, Cox BBA students are definitely as good as McCombs’ and the SMU experience is better.
Re: US News rankings come out Sept 10I trust the rankings of poets and quant for undergrad more than us news for bba education.

34th for employment? What about the booming Texas market?
Re: US News rankings come out Sept 10
Why do I keep hearing about companies leaving California yet the California economy is booming. Just about every policy Donald Trump imposes to make his America great is opposed by the world's fifth-largest economy. That would be California, which is growing faster and outperforming the U.S. in job growth, manufacturing, personal income, corporate profits and the total return of its bonds. The most populous U.S. state, with 39.5 million people, supplanted the U.K. as No. 5 in the world with an equivalent gross domestic product of more than $2.7 trillion, increasing $127 billion last year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Trump attributes the prosperity of the U.S. economy during his 17 months as president to his evisceration of environmental regulations and other consumer protections, abandoning the Paris climate accord, aggressively deporting undocumented immigrants, prohibiting people from certain nations (mostly majority Muslim) from emigrating to the U.S., prosecuting sanctuary cities for protecting immigrants, cutting taxes most for corporations and the rich, and appointing a Supreme Court justice who just wrote the 5-4 decision limiting the rights of tens of millions of workers. https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles ... tpaces-u-s “Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.”

Re: US News rankings come out Sept 10Actually he attributes the economic boom we are experiencing to the tax reform that his administration pushed through, along with the removal of numerous executive regulations put in place b the previous administration. Also - less illegal imigration (I.e. Low cost labor) is very good news for those that are blue collar workers, who are finally seeing their wages increasing. So a nice win for the under employed. That is what is causing the lift and it is just starting.
