Yes! our core base of fans care enough- but do not care to have an AD who shoves them aside for a 'fast buck'. Plus wholly demonstrates his complete incompetence by insulting those who questioned the re-seating procedure.

Who knows how our bball 'CofC' thinks or feels. I guess we shall see in the near future if saving this program is important to them.

To the casual fan (those who helped fill Moody in the LB era) I doubt if they care all that much..
In the 'winning days of LB' Moody was a place to see and be seen. Hence the casual fan wanted to be a part of that action. Plus the fans saw an exciting bball game and certainly got their monies worth.

The real powers that be don’t want SMU being top 10 in major sports. Too much hullabaloo.
When that happens then we self report that a recruit got a hat and push that coach away.

Yes, but it would have been much easier to sustain that level of success than it will be to rebuild now that we have fallen precipitously.

Especially without a Hall of Fame coach as the face of our program

Maybe this should go on the football page.

Change Moody to Ford and bball to football and you've stated exactly the problem SMU faces with the football program. Getting casual fans in the stadium was exactly the intent in the early eighties. I doubt that SMU sports marketing will be or can be as good again.

I don't know who as a football coach to name in place of lb, but I sure hope that Sonny turns out to be the man because I'm too old for us to go through another five or seven coaches to get there.

One thought: Get an administrator with experience at Wisconsin - Whitewater, NW Missouri State, or St. Francis (NAIA) and see what could be done. Wouldn't fit the mold? mtrout just said as much?

Oh, well okay.

The first minute lyrics of this song pretty well sums it up...

True, but irrelevant. That’s in the past and doesn’t help us get back.

Yup. We got rid of that cancerous winning culture. Whew, that was a close one. Back to #100.

It's funny we hired a recruit's dad for like 100k/yr who did nothing (and we didn't get the recruit) and that's cool. Then someone takes a meaningless online quiz for KF so we get rid of the most successful coach in the history of our program.

SMU doing what it does best- destroying successful athletic programs and ignoring falling/stagnant academic status. RGT doing what he does best- building fountains.
