Thanks for posting.

I graduated in ‘68 and Bishop Boulevard trees were certainly smaller, throwing less shade back then. The more open spaces on the boulevard allowed the Swim Team to play touch football in front of Perkins Natatorium (new location of the Indoor Peformance Facility).

In retrospective, the Hilltop felt much smaller than the larger, more densely filled campus of today.

Both versions are wonderful. However, our campus is truly more remarkable today. A real treasure in the middle of Dallas. Northwest Highway was lightly traveled with little shopping.

Back then, University Park felt like it was on outskirts of the city. Love Field was the main airport, just a short drive down Mockingbird.

In 1963 when I arrive there were at least 7 more small fountains with elaborate brass sculptures that adorned the center green way down as far as McElvaney. They were operational, but not maintained or in good shape. Some time circa. 1966 they ripped them out and the tree planting commenced along the Bishop green way and around the the "B" school. Today's picture clearly shows the results of those plantings.

Then we ripped a bunch of them out for the IPF.
