Golf coach

Postby Terry Webster » Wed Oct 09, 2019 8:30 pm

Saw that he is taking some time away. Hope that this time can be healing for him after the past few months. Prayers for him and his family.

Is Ben Wong still with the team? Was very good as a freshman.

Yes, Ben is still on team, but hasn't played well in qualifying.

As a former golfer (not while I was at SMU), I never felt the coach had anything to do with our play other than deciding who would play in any given match/tournament. I have no information regarding the SMU situation but there's a lot of talent on this roster so deciding who gets to play in any given event can be a challenge. Obviously if someone knows the course or you know a particular course fits one guy's game better than another's, those are important decisions that have to be made.

Odd to be making vague statements about the coach when we are ranked in the top 5

Seems like good insight. Wish the coach the best during his time off. Props to the team for playing some great golf to finish out the Fall.
